Wood work



Hi, I'm going to tell you about woodworking today. Since I was a child I have had an approach to this material, since my father works with it and I have been learning and recognizing its essence, particularities and rules that wood have, in addition to the different species that exist, their smells and textures.
Nowadays, at university, we are unusually able to use this beautiful material, since we have been configuring ourselves to certain simplistic methodologies that are looking for excessive productivity, instead of something more elemental such as quality or development. That is why every time I can try to work with it, as it involves more time and more patience, also the characteristic of being able to experience infinite constructive solutions that we can use later in projects.
I love wood, and I feel very happy with the university that has a place to work, with many tools and machines in which I can learn more from it.

I always loved animals, when I was 13, my mom gave me a little hamster called bicho, he was very elusive and sometimes we did not know where he was for a week ... or more. I liked to play with him every day when I came home from school. Hello, my name is Emilio, I was born in Santiago 1993 and this is a small description of me. I lived in Maipú since I was born, but in 2004 I moved with my mother and my sister to Santiago centro, living a new experience, new school, new friends and new ways to discover the city. A few years later I started using my bicycle for everything, like finding different routes and places where I had never been before, building every day a biggest map of were I live,  and I think this fact is the most influential in me in the way I started to see things, the image is a view of santiago in the 30's, view from a corner of Alameda/Vicuña Mackenna.

Lina Bo Bardi

I want to tell you about Lina Bo Bardi, she was a architect from Italy. She was born in 1914 in Rome and died in 1992. At the beginning she studied in Rome in the 30's, where she installed her office of architecture in the context of the II World War, with this she had few works and disappointed of this, she moves to Brazil with her husband, an art collector called Pietro Maria Bardi. There in Sao Paulo they installed a collection of popular art that was dialogue of the Modern and the Popular. She liked people, so she wanted to make spaces for them, an unfinished space that was activated by common use every day. In 1950 he made his own house, "Glass house", a project that is used as a reference and today can be visited as a museum. In 1957 she realized the project MASP (Museum of arts Sao Paulo) And in 1977 he achieved the cusp with his best work, the SESC Pompeia, using a factory of barrels existing.
